About Kenji
What?! You want to know more about me?
Here are the different hats I wear:
CEO / President of Production Heads Network Inc.
My company is best known for VancouverActorsGuide.com, the trusted resource for localized information for actors and industry professionals since 1998. We also have developed ProductionHeads.com which provides relevant information for the local film, tv, and theatre community.
Associate Producer with Boca del Lupo Theatre
Boca del Lupo is well known for specializing in experimental theatrical productions and spectacular outdoor presentations. Some past productions include those that were held underneath the Burrard St bridge or in Stanley park amongst the trees. Most recently, I was on the producing team to bring to life Dance Marathon, The Interview (part of HIVE 3) and the upcoming production of PHOTOG (world premiere Nov 2010), and the major site-specific production of La Marea, to happen on the street in the middle of Gastown in January 2011.
Actor / Performer
Yup, I’m an actor with experience on film, tv, and stage. Some film & tv projects include Psych (USA Network), Endgame (Global/Showcase), Untold Stories of the ER (TLC/Discovery Channel), and you can see me in fellow Canadian, Michael Buble’s “Lost” music video.
I’ve had the opportunity to be part of the Neworld Theatre production called, “Are We There Yet?” It’s a participatory play about sexual health and relationships. We were honoured with three Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards for our first tour in 2009 – Significant Artistic Achievement, Outstanding Production, and Outstanding Artistic Creation. Being part of that production was a great thrill as it mixed both my love of performing along with my passion and experience as a sexual health educator.
DOXA Documentary Film Festival
Since October 2008, I’ve had the opportunity to sit on the Board of Directors of this awesome festival. Currently I am the chair of the board. I joined the board because it ties into my areas of interest in education, social awareness, and of course, film.
Facilitator – participatory education, youth engagement, sexual health, group facilitation
In 2003, I started working with a program operating out of Vancouver Coastal Health which allowed me to visit local high schools as a sexual health facilitator. Education is a big passion of mine and sexual health is one of the areas I feel there is a lack of honest and relevant information which is made available to youth. I have facilitated more than 350 workshops on topics that range from sexual health, group facilitation, youth engagement, participatory education, bullying and racism.
Well those are some of details about me. You can find more things via my Linkedin Profile or my twitter account, both links up top beside my face. If you have any specific questions feel free to contact me directly.
